How to Play
In this part of the website I will be showing you how to play the great game of chess. Before you begin reading the instructions please get a chess set out so you can follow along with me. The first step is to set the board up. On the left you should see a picture of a set up chess board if you can not see it very well play the video down the bottom of the screen. Now we will move onto how the pieces move and how they take other pieces. If you don't have a good memory you might want to write this information down in a book. So on your board you should see the front row of your pieces are all the same. These pieces are called pawns and can move one or two spaces forward on their first move but once that has happened it can only move one space forward and it can only take another piece if it is one space diagonal from it.Next I am going to tell you how the castle moves. The castle can only move straight, however it can it can move any number of squares. Now lets move on to the bishop, the bishop can only move diagonal and it can only take diagonal as well. Now have a look at the king, he can move in any direction but only one space at a time. Now lets talk about the knight, it can only move in an L shape in any direction but only three straight then one across to make an L shape. Now for the final piece, the queen, this piece can move in any direction and any number of squares and can take another piece in any direction and any number of squares.
